Contemporary Country Cooking...
Head chef Cassie Bond and her team create menus featuring traditional Lancashire and pub favourites as well as something a little different. They are in the kitchen every day preparing all the dishes here on the premises and continue to develop new and exciting flavour combinations in order to keep the menu fresh and seasonal.
On our menu, you will find the very best quality ingredients – home made sausages; locally reared Bowland lamb and beef; fresh fish from the North Sea; fruits and vegetables grown within the region – all sourced from producers who take pride in their products.
We only use ethical producers who follow the same principals that we do and will continue to support local entrepreneurs who make culinary masterpieces that fit within our concept. Mrs Dowson’s ice creams were chosen to accompany our vast array of home made puddings and desserts and we use game and vegetables shot and grown by our villagers.
Our menus will always make the most of seasonal ingredients, whilst combining the best of great British cooking and influences from around the world. We are renowned for mouth watering locally reared steaks (supplied by local farmer, Alan Moorhouse) and our champagne battered pollock has become something of a signature dish, accompanied by home made minted mushy peas and real chips cooked in beef dripping.
Sunday lunch is a favourite here at the Coach & Horses. For £9.95, you can feast upon soup of the day followed by the roast of the day plus all the accompaniments and 5 vegetables. But if that's not to your taste, the full menu and specials board is available throughout the day.
We don’t have a children’s menu, because we think they should have the opportunity to eat food that’s as good as yours, but our chefs are happy to make smaller portions or simplified versions of anything on our menu.
Our take away menu offers a selection of traditional fare that one would expect to find in a fish and chip shop. So if you fancy a night in front of the telly and don’t have the energy to cook, give us a call and we’ll have your order ready for you when you come to collect.
We also cater for outside events, so whether it is an intimate gathering for 8, or a buffet for 200, then please come and speak to either Ross or Zak and we will create a package that best suits your venue and budget.
Please click on the links below and download our current menus - don’t’ forget our specials board that changes day to day. We also run a number of offers during the week and weekends, so take a look at our news and events pages to keep a breast of what’s happening at the Coach and Horses.
